745411 2009-02-06 02:37:00 Single PC use, I prefer wired simply for the added security and reliability but I'm open to wireless as well, provided it's rock solid.

I don't mind if it's got a bunch of crap added on that I'll never use as long as it provides a good connection.

Help is appreciated!

745412 2009-02-06 19:42:00 just upgraded to the "Linksys AG300" (wired) after using a "D-Link 502T" for a number of years. Have not noticed any real difference in speed, but wanted ADSL2 ready and also have second PC which I can connect to the Linksys (4 port hub).

The Linksys was very easy to set up and have not had a problem with it.

Just need to learn which settings I can adjust to make it even better?

745413 2009-02-06 20:23:00 Using a 3Com modem here. When I moved to ADSL2+ I thought I needed a new modem but didn't realise the 3Com unit supported ADSL2+. The modem I got from Vodafone wasn't the best (Hauwei) and one thing I didn't like was the fact that the built-in firewall only had 2 settings on and off (WTF)

The 3Com unit however comes with all the bells and whistles and is really is to configure and setup. That aside the 3Com has given me better SNR and attentuation rates which increased my speed a little bit.

I would recommend 3Com but there are plenty of other options out there of course.

Cheers,
