553500	2007-05-27 09:13:00	BGLan is rolling out a series of sweeping changes that will improve the way the LANs are run. The new website is proof of this. The next LAN will be held on June 22-24, and we're excited! This LAN we will be rolling out a proper intranet, as well as making even more use of our powerful dedicated server. The last LAN we tested the intranet under high load situations, as well as tested running a Counter-strike Source tournament. And yes, we're still doing the free pizza promo. HIGHLIGHTS: - Free pizza Saturday night - Cafe breakfast Saturday morning, %20 discount - Gigabit network - Prepay prize draw(Prepay before 6th of June) - CS: S and CoD2 tournaments - Comfortable conference center as the venue. - 42 hours - Seperate sleeping room - feel free to bring your own pillow, sleeping bag, and/or mattress. WHEN: Prepays Close: 20th of June Starts: 8PM, the 22nd of June Ends: 2PM, the 24th of June WHERE: The Apollo Health Centre, 119 Apollo Drive, Albany. In the upstairs conference rooms. The venue is consistantly said to be the best by our lanners, with a Zen peace garden outside the windows and a tasty cafe downstairs. PRICE: Spectator: $0 - Just show up and have a look around! Prepay before event: $25 Pay at event: $30 *NOTE that there's a good chance that the seats will be booked out before the prepay end date. So please prepay ASAP. NETWORK: The network is fully gigabit, we have a decent internet connection at the event. Additionally, we will run a DC++ hub to facilitate the sharing of game patches, etc. Our intranet will allow you to download these patches as well, along with some other features. TOURNAMENTS: Everyone loves tournaments! We will be running the following two tournaments: Counterstrike Source: Teams of 3 - Will begin at 4PM. Call of Duty 2: Teams of 4 - Will begin at 12PM. GAMES: Most anything decent will see gametime. CoD2, CSS, Starcraft, Warcraft 3, Soldat, Trackmania Nations, Flatout2, Battlefield 2, CnC3, etc. We will have gameservers on tap for most anything that's in demand from our new dedicated Core 2 Duo gameserver. PRIZES: Prepay prize: PC Repair Kit 1x antistatic mat(60x50x200cm) 1x 36pc Tool kit complete in zipper case Randomly drawn, participants must have prepaid BEFORE the 6th of June. You can still prepay afterwards, you just won't be put in the draw. Gaming Spot prize: USB Massage ball Both of the above have been donated by PC Media Solutions, please check them out at www.pcms.co.nz More TBA. FOOD: We have a cafe downstairs which is open on Saturday - along with a 20% discount. We have a huge breakfast on the Saturday morning. You can get the discount just by saying you're from upstairs. On the Saturday evening, around 8PM, we buy pizza for everyone, at no cost. Spectators will need to leave during this time. There's also a Burger King literally a minutes walk from the venue, right across the road. I can't wait to see the event packed out again, we're setting up an awesome lineup for you guys.
