552948 2007-05-25 05:35:00 I was expecting a X1900XTX graphics card today replaced under warranty .

Checked the tracking number on PBTs website and to my surprise saw it was dleivered at 9:36am and signed for "MB" .

Rang them, got put through to Invercragill office who said, yes it was signed for by XXXXX (my surname) and delivered .

Explain no it wasn't, she said she'd check with driver, comes back and says driver left it in letterbox, I say no it isn't there and she said she'd check and ring me back .

The actual driver lady rang back and said she signed it "MB" which stands for mailbox, and had left it as no-one was home .

This is a signature required parcel .

I tell her I was home and anyway why would she leave a $1000 graphics card in a mailbox??!!

(Ok it was $1000 at purchase time)

She asks why am I getting upset, she's just telling me where it is .

I give up and contact my supplier and tell them, and ask for them not to send me anything again by PBT .

552949 2007-05-25 05:46:00 Never satisfied, some people. :( The driver saved you the trouble of signing for the parcel. And now you complain because the parcel didn't stay in your letter box. :illogical

Doesn't it make you wish for the old inefficient "Registered Mail" of the old Post Office? If you weren't home, you could go to the Post Office and sign for the item --- which would be there. I thought couriers were supposed to do that, too. Perhaps it's not "efficient". Who cares what happens to the parcels?

552951 2007-05-25 07:43:00 They aren't the only couriers that do that!
Where I used to work the courierpost driver would sometimes get there too early and just leave stuff at the back door and sign for it himself.
The stuff would be in plain site to anyone passing by and we're talking printers, laptops, computers etc!

552952 2007-05-25 08:08:00 OOOh! Is this a ***** about couriers thread? Because I have many stories. Heard of Arrow couriers? They left a $6000 TV on the footpath outside our office one time, that's about the worst story I can think of. pine-o-cleen (2955)

I also have a supplier (possibly the same one) who usually uses PBT, and I would agree that they are the worst courier company in the country . I bought a few cases last week and there was 4 business days in between PBT getting the parcel, and it being delivered . They said that my cases were held up for inspection . It takes this long every time!

Last week the driver couldn't be bothered walking up my steps and left $3000+ worth of computer parts sitting at the BOTTOM of my steps . That's in plain sight of the entire neighborhood and nowhere near my house .

The only reason I ever use them is because they are less than a third the price of CourierPost .

552956 2007-05-25 20:59:00 Sounds like I'm the only one who's had good experiences with PBT - never had an issue with them. Apart from the time when their depot in Wellington was closed due ot a chemical spill down the road, I've always had parcels on time, and never had high-value items left outside. somebody (208)
