Some of you may remember (yawn) that I purchased used Mazda 6 earlier this year. A few km's and a week or so out of the dealer's warranty it developed a worrying knock in the steering/front suspension and a few days later the battery died. The Dealer agreed to look at it (no commitment) but wanted it dropped off and left with them for a day. This was the other side of Auckland for me and wasn't practicable so it was readily agreed that the local Mazda dealer could take a look provided they advised before doing anything if there was a major problem. Turned out the knock was a known problem stemming from inadequate greasing in the steering rack or thereabouts during manufacture, and the dud battery was, well, a dud battery. I paid the bill (about $250) and sent the Dealer the details. In due course I received a cheque for the full amount I had paid, which I considered to be very generous as I might well have been expected to wear some of the cost, given that the battery had seen 3 years of service before it died. Top marks to Moyes Panmure for going against the traditional image of car dealers and backing their sale up with excellent service. From the moment I contacted them with an email enquiry about the vehicle I eventually bought they provided top quality, friendly, no pressure service, loaned me a car to go to the bank for the money and had the new vehicle ready on time as promised when I returned. They are right up there with Flashcards in my "good people to deal with stakes" along with KBB Music who are also a team to be reckoned with. Three thumbs all round! Excellent! :thumbs:More to the point... Moyes of Panmure are a bunch of rip-off artists who employ rip-off artists with the sole intention of ripping off their customers. This viewpoint I have is from first-hand experience plus the views of everyone I know who've had dealings with them. So, well done Billy - it's always cheerful to hear a positive experience. |

Sure can, diagnosis was by a large and reputable Mazda dealership with whom I have been dealing for many years. They looked up the computer for the common causes of this complaint and noted that the previous owner of the vehicle had not responded to an advisory request to bring the car in for a check while under warranty. Mistrust is a dangerous instinct to harbour, it prevents you from seeing the good in people and attitudes of mistrust bring mistrust in return. I find that I get back in the same tenor that I give out, treat people well and they will want to help you, it is a relationship-psychology thing I guess, but I have a very high success rate rate with warranties (including those that have expired) so I must be doing something right. I'm $250 better off for not attacking the dealer, backing my claim with facts and logic, then giving them space to make their decision. Works for me. Cheers Billy 8-{) :) |

I'm literally so many thousands of dollars ahead of the game that I simply don't need to worry about what the odd (very odd) dull-mutterer might post . :groan: Cheers Billy 8-{) :D |
