553045 2007-05-26 14:46:00 What the heck are you doing saving a screen shot as a Rich Text File ???????
Screenshots and . rtf extensions don't go together all that well for some reason . . . .

I just pasted it in WordPad . . . Oooops!

OK . . Exercise in stooopidity . . but just for fun, how can I convert it to a jpeg? . . I KNOW I did it before but can't remember how .

PS: . rtf is really a very good c/p area . . . it is the only place I could get the screenshot to actually save with any detail at all .

553046 2007-05-27 03:38:00 I assume you have MS paint intalled???

Its not the world's best imaging editor I must admit, but it does the job...

USAGE:
1. Press printscreen key on keyboard

2. Open MS paint

3. go edit > paste

4. go file > save as

5. Name file and make sure to save as jpeg (as paint automatically tries to save as bitmap)

There. Done. (hopefully)

553047 2007-05-27 04:24:00 Forum admins, how about google text ads? They're much less obtrusive, less likely to be blocked, and likely to earn more money.Advertisements are shown to managers for approval. They love obtrusive advertisements for their products. Graham L (2)

553049 2007-05-27 05:03:00 Yep- that's pretty much what I get SurferJoe .

BTW, anyone notice that the offence happened late Friday afternoon . I was visualising the new code girl sitting there with a smirk on her face as she hit the button then took off for a weekend of carefree debauchery

Also seems to have been a distinct lack of Mods around . . . unless they are also lurking and smirking :stare:

Never fear, Mods are around, you just can't always see them . ;)

BTW Joe, if you had saved that image file as a JPEG as suggested, the dialup users wouldn't have been landed with a 2 MB+ screenshot to load .

553051 2007-05-27 05:30:00 OK...I'm old...please don't yell at me. SurferJoe46 (51)

Is THAT why it loaded from bottom to top instead of top to bottom?
Thought something funny was going on...

553053 2007-05-27 06:31:00 So install and fiddle?

That post was addressed to The_End_Of_Reality, not you, but if you would like to install and fiddle then you are most welcome to do so. Some of us like to experiment with different layouts and functions but if it's not your cup of tea then you don't have to.

I like the speed dial, I am not sure I like the way it opens the last page displayed when closed... or when it takes over the torrents when I go to download one, but I am sure there are options around to fix these annoyances :D
