| 553151 | 2007-05-28 10:53:00 | I kinda like this article too. Something must really be starting to bite the "higher ups" at Microsoft  Microsoft Zune team invited to give up iPods In what can be seen as either a joke or a real attempt to get employees to give up Apple iPods in favor of the Zune MP3 player, the team at Microsoft Corp. that builds Zune has set up a bin at its headquarters so employees can drop in iPods they don't want to use anymore. A photo of the "iPod Amnesty Bin," which has on it an image of a bitten green apple and the words "Bite me," has been posted on Flickr. From the looks of the photo, not many people have been willing to give up their iPods, though a few of the earlier versions of Apple Inc.'s popular media players were lying at the bottom of the bin. A user who calls himself "fimoculous" and identified himself in an e-mail as MSNBC.com employee Rex Sorgatz, posted the photo, and said he thought the bin was someone's idea of a joke, nothing more. MSNBC.com is a joint media venture between Microsoft and MSNBC. www.itworld.com :groan: |

| 553153 | 2007-05-28 11:12:00 | i was actually "groaning" over how you completely missed the point, and tried to yet again compensate for apple being made fun of by pointing out flaws in microsoft. see here (www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net) |

| 553154 | 2007-05-28 11:50:00 | I was aware of both reasons which is why I intentionally posted that article and link. Microsoft has been taking a lot of heat from the press since the release of Vista which was obviously getting up their nose since they are no longer top dog in town, so I just thought I'd throw that one into a discussion mocking Apple. It would seem that a large Microsoft's own employees don't want to "eat their own dogfood" when it comes to portable music players. |

| 553156 | 2007-05-29 03:23:00 | At least Apple employees enjoy wearing and listening to their iPods :), almost as much as Jonathan Ive enjoys designing them. Santa Steve often gives them a Shuffle for free at Christmas. | winmacguy (3367) | ||
