Since the new owners took over the evil empire there have been subtle attempts to infiltrate PF1 with... stuff (peely ads anyone?). Here is a cautionary tale for business- if you make the natives unhappy you have no customers, if you have no customers you have no business. Even more poignant because the the ones you are upsetting are the ones who make up PF1... we can all jump ship in a second and the only ones who will see those mean green ads are pimply teenagers. I say figure out another way to generate revenue because I reckon PF1ers would donate to keep this place running if necessary, they just don't like being taken for targets. |

Wow . . that's strange . . all I get in the screen shot is a lot of blank area . . . is there some new code the page is written in that won't render in a c/p? I tried to paste it into Wordpad . . . lots of blanks with just some border lines showing . I tried saving as a . gif . . . the same blanks, this time no borders I tried to view it in Microsoft's Picture and Fax, Picasa and converting to a . tif . Same-o . . . just a lot of blank stuff with a sprinkle of lost pixels on the screen . This morning, the smilies are where they belong, but it appears they have had a downsized place to live . . . they are now 2 columns wide, but my text or typing appear within the borders now . So much for rent controlled residences . If this mess is really from ads, which I have blocked, then the reasoning of whomever did this should be questioned . Whole countries have been formed on insults to people with less intrusion than this . Is Bill Gates hiding in the room? |

What about us FireFox users? :dogeye: I have attacked them with *** asblock and it gets rid of the .gifs, but nothing else and it doesn't resore the dimentions of the page... so it still looks horrid either way :badpc: Hmm, maybe I will use Opera from now on just to get rid of these ads :illogical You would think... a rather large company having ads on the website, why? it is not like the company needs all the money in the world :waughh: why can't us users have ad free? OR even have ads for people not logged in, but once someone is logged in the ads dissapear like magic? :D |

They are right of course, however, there are other games (en.wikipedia.org) in town. Someone at Fairsux towers should be advised that having apparently killed off the magazine (local bookshops have lots of copies in stock, browsed not bought), the website is the only outlet they have to this particular bunch of suckers. Ah well, the headman should be finding it much easier to count the beans real soon now, and then the tax write-off will follow. :groan: Anybody got a bid in for the coffee machine? Firesale for Christmas? |
