552958 2007-05-25 21:39:00 No problems with PBT here - or other firms either. Worst thing that happens with deliveries is that the junkmail gets blown around occasionally. Sometimes it is quite soggy by the time I parcel it up and post it off to an advertiser chosen at random from the pile. (Without sufficient stamps of course. ;)) R2x1 (4628)
552959 2007-05-25 22:22:00 I cant believe nobody's bitched about Fastways yet, although they don't really count as a courier as they're so useless. Pete O'Neil (6584)
552960 2007-05-25 23:01:00 I have always had a good run with PBT and Fastway. Metla (12)
552961 2007-05-25 23:11:00 Part of it I'd say is the drivers. Most of them aren't employees but Franchise owners.
This woman is obviously really casual about the whole thing.
She seemed to think it was no big deal.

My supplier told me the claim goes to the driver in this case too, so she'll be stuck with their bill.

The best here are CourierPost. Always fast, always gt me to sign or leave a card.

The 2nd worst I have had is Castle Parcels, who are a subsidary of Post Haste. It does get here but it takes absolutely ages.

As far as I can tell the best anywhere is CourerPost. I sent a PC a few days ago, it was picked up around 5pm, and it was delivered way up north (well past Auckland, Kaitia or something) at 9am the next morning.

I get that level of service consistently. If something is sent, it arrives the next day, in the morning - without exception so far.

I had a very bad experience with them, when my package arrived damaged. I would never use them again, and none of my friends will use them either.

I have never had a problem with PBT. However in general I think the courier industry needs a big shake up. I had exactly the same problem with something not arriving, and when I contacted the courier, they faxed me form showing it had been signed for. Someone had however written my name in the field. Imitating someone signature is fraud and a criminal offense, so I told the courier company that I was going to contact the police. They then got back to me to tell me that the courier had signed for it themselves and left it on the doorstep, and becuase they had only printed the name, and not 'signed' it, that this was not illegal or fraudualent.

I'd take advice on that if I were you, IMHO any entry in a signature field purporting to be your name, and by inference entered by you or your authorised agent, would seem to be fraudulent. It is most certainly NOT proof in any way shape or form that the package was ever delivered to your address. Where's Winston when we need him?

Interestingly, I receive regular deliveries from a range of Couriers (but not PBT) and most want me to sign their electronic gizmo screen with a stylus. Only a few ever want pen and ink, and anything left in my absence is on the front doorstep, never in the letterbox.

Cheers

552965 2007-05-27 08:50:00 Don't know which courier, happened a couple of years ago to my neice living in Chch, she had won a auction at TradeME for a LCD screen, sig required, mid afternoon and she hears a thump and a crash outside the bedroom window, courier driver had heaved it over the 6ft high fence. When she she complained, driver denied doing it as she had "signed" for it. Was eventally sorted out with the company coming to the party. PinoyKiw (9675)
552966 2007-05-27 11:07:00 Umm, dumb question; but are PBT the same as Peter Baker Transport (who use blue, black and white as their colours)? Myth (110)
552967 2007-05-27 11:27:00 My new laptop (carried by PBT Couriers) was lost between Auckland and Hawkes Bay in September last year. Dell issued me with a replacement. I wonder who has the 'lost' laptop?...... Oldferix (5581)
