| 552927 | 2007-05-25 21:30:00 | The very few times I ever used Ihug's email I noticed that it was as bad as pigeon mail. :groan: I always use either Gmail or my Orcon account which I rarely have problems with. |

Which is more than I can say (about your Orcon account). :D I sent a message on 16 May. It was unsuccessful. But was my bad, old address. :o Love your avatar, good action shot, did your boots get full of water? |

We sent iHug a spam header at there abuse address some months ago, about a fortnight later we get a very terse reply back stating if we ever emailed them again they would report us to our ISP for spamming . !! |

Abuse would only deal with something like firewall logs/ attempting hacking. Just get something like Poptray and block the domain. Like I did. |

We use Mailwasher which we paid for when it first came out, has paid for itself many times over. The spam header I referred to came from iHug, probaby someone infected with a spam bot or virus. Considering that NZ has/was listed as being a source of spam from spam bots, probaby count on one hand the number I have seen that have traced back to a NZ based ISP spam bot. |

Message now successfully received. :) Surprisingly enough my socks were only slightly damp after crossing that river three times (didn't fall off, see :p) but I got an excellent boot wash. :D |

| 552933 | 2007-06-22 00:11:00 | I have just found this thread. We have had email problems with ihug over the last 5-6 months, we have 38 staff and it is very frustrating as we rely on email for business and communication. The outage last week was the second to last nail in the coffin. Heres to hoping the problem will get fixed soon! as i don't want to have to change ISP's yet, but it may be inevitable by the looks. Who do you recommend? I have investigated Telstraclear & xtra as our local competition in Taranaki. |

| 552934 | 2007-06-22 05:42:00 | We had a problem with not being able to send messages at all a few days ago; the problem was the SMTP server, which was only changed once (to fix the problem :groan:) | pcuser42 (130) | ||

You pay approx $1/GB (0.1c/MB to be precise). You only pay for the data you use. You can choose to set a cap, or not. There is no fixed term contract. Customer service is excellent!! When you call the helpdesk, you are put straight through to a real person. No automated answering system here... And often you're not even put on hold. http://www.xnet.co.nz/ I don't know what the others are like. |
