| 555101 | 2007-06-02 15:54:00 | I believe there to be righteous and unrighteous uses of cracks and bootlegged copies . Example: I bought Power DVD and after installing it, with it all running nicely, had to format and start a new hdd . . . for one reason or another . I lost the original container with the key for Power DVD, and sent an e-mail to the company . . somewhere in Northern California and then to China, where the company actually was at the time . They told me that I was pounding sand and that they weren't going to give me a key even if I showed them the receipt or any other proof . So . . I went and got a hacked key . . OK . . my bad . . . but I was angry . Months later, I found the original box with the key . . but I still run the program on the hacked key . I feel that under the circumstances I was exonerated by having bought the program legally in the first place, and they were buttheads for not helping a real customer . I still don't lose any sleep over it . |

Or so I hear (was on the news or in the paper a while ago). Things may have changed since ... |

Wanted to upgrade and found it was going to cost heaps. Her letter was published in PC World recently. |

| 555106 | 2007-06-02 22:51:00 | Not true. I was going to get an account to sell Apple products with Apple NZ until I found out that they have a margin of 6%! That's the Apple division of Renaissance in NZ, I was referring to Apple HQ, Cupertino, CA. They release an overall breakdown of their revenue for each quarter in their financial statement which gets posted on Apple.com |
