746131 2009-02-11 18:12:00 The two O/S's are living happily , each in their own partition and not interfering with each other. Dual boot works as advertised. No problems with 64 bit drivers. 7 told me what it needed and found them without any help from me.
7 is good, no doubt about that. I would be quite happy to use it as my sole OS.
I have installed a second copy of MS Flight simulator X on the same drive as 7 without any problem. It works well.

But I come to the end of the road when I try to install addons. The addons,mostly from ORBX are self installing. No options about where do I want them. They just finish up in the 32 bit version regardless of the fact that I install them from the 64 bit drive.

Looks like I've got to decide whether to get rid of XP or 7.

746132 2009-02-11 19:57:00 Programs / whatever will install to the x32 folder. Unless its 64 bit

It doesnt matter if the OS is 64 bit
