I thought that the bootable CD is only used for restoring

you can restore or make an image.Only thing is, making an image takes a lot longer with the bootable cd/dvd. Tried it with version 12 the other day and it took over an hour, whereas using version 10 on my pc while running Windows, takes about 30 minutes.

Thanks for the clarification Neil - much appreciated :)

Separately, I note that you talk about version 12. After versions 10 & 11 the next version is 2009. Presumably 12 is slang for 2009 ?

Took 10 mins from my bootable disk and needs at least half an hour from within Windows as when using the CD it's not sharing resources with Windows

745965 2009-02-11 08:04:00 I forget exactly which version of Ghost I investigated a year or so ago, but it was a piece of 'manure'. I think it was something like Ghost 12.

I still rely on a much older version of Ghost, but it doesn't support USB, and probably not SATA, and maybe not even CD. This old version needs a DOS prompt... but it's a breeze to use.
