745816 2009-02-08 23:46:00 Ensure that each user must use a password to log on to the PC.

Either switch the PC off when you are not in the room, or Cntrl,Alt Delete to bring up Task Manager and select Log Off or Lock Computer :)

Taking the modem/router out of the equation will help. Just unplug it and hide it.

Other than that you could give her a heavy dose of what you are on and she could sit there looking vacant and placid.

745818 2009-02-09 03:10:00 If you don't mind risking leaving an 8 yr old unsupervised on your pc that's your call, but I really would disable the net unless you are watching - most filters etc just make the pc a pain to use and none can be 100% effective.

Personally after experiencing the havoc children who think they know what they are doing can wreak on a pc I would use a user account with no administrator priviliges, and preferably monitor them in person.

good luck

745824 2009-02-09 09:03:00 Games only.no internet.

So you unplugged a cable or so and therefore no Internet access I guess for the eight year old.
