Good specs for good price. Go for it - you can buy it online, or via their 0800 number. They ship it direct from their factory.

Why is that?

554861 2007-06-02 05:13:00 Their laptops are pretty good bang for buck though.

What's ASUS like in terms of customer service?

Their laptops might be good bang for buck but I think they have to be couriered to Dell in Wellywood if they need repairing.

What's ASUS like in terms of customer service? Yes, but I like reliability and customer service... and I have had to deal with Dells poor reliability and bad customer service...

I can't say I have called the ASUS customer service... I have never had an ASUS product fail :p :D

554864 2007-06-02 08:23:00 James, a hard core gamer will NOT get a $1000 laptop for gaming :p

If it is only for the basic office stuff (Net, E-Mail, Word, Excel etc) then I would say an ASUS Z92U (www.dse.co.nz) would do the trick... or if the budget can stretch an ASUS F5R (www.dse.co.nz) but I would stay away from Dell...
Hey David, I know, I was just making a point that he needs to tell us what is s/he aftering. He or she could know nothing about computer prices and yet may want to indulge himself or herself in games.

Who knows, a no-other-but-WOW hardcore gamer might just opt for only 5GB of HDD + just sufficient RAM + slightly above the minimum requirement CPU... :D

Cheers :)

554865 2007-06-02 08:23:00 Yup, I'm looking at the 2GB one for $1399 seems like a real good deal. I mean at this point I don't mid staying on line for hours as Woosh has trained me well but stretching the dollar further is more important:D beeswax34 (63)
