But then wouldn't the problem be there all the time?

Tis perfect in the afternoon and evening....it's just morning that's unwatchable.

It's for that reason I'm worried Sky are gonna think I have a substance abuse problem....:D

554032 2007-05-28 22:54:00 Do you turn the decoder off overnight? That might explain why it is different in the mornings. The Pace 600 is likely to be a recycled one so I wouldn't be surprised if it was faulty. The 600 seems slow to repond to the remote, push them for a later model. PaulD (232)
554033 2007-05-28 22:56:00 Marginal signal levels give that effect as well.

I see no possibility that cordless phones or WiFi would, the frequencies are poles apart.

Either the decoder or the dish alignment will be the cause.

That's what I thought too but the sky tech unplugged the cordless phone base station and the problem went away.
He changed the decoder to a different brand and the problem didn't return so some decoders are more susceptible to this issue.

I would try without the 5.8GHz phone as well just out of curiosity :D

554034 2007-05-28 23:23:00 Have you rung sky today and got a tech to come out and have a look at this decoder or are you gonna wait for the problem to go away. Hitech (9024)

out of interest was the sky decoder still pluged into the phone line? some models are well known to screw up the phone system. could just be it was on the receiving end for a change.

No phone line install with the decoder as we don't watch pay-per-view.

554037 2007-05-28 23:46:00 Iv'e got a sky tech coming out today to swap my decoder, the problem is when you change channels the decoder switches itself to the weather channel which is very odd but it does this randomly and as usual it probably won't do it when the techs here.
Sky must pay $1 for these decoders i have never had a year go by where a decoder hasnt given me a problem at all.The brands of decoder they have must be made on the side of the road in china cause they are just rubbish why dont sky spend some descent money and buy some reliable decoders for us.Oh yer thats right a $55 million dollar upgrade of their studios is more important than looking after their customers how silly of me to forget that.

:( :angry

554039 2007-05-29 00:15:00 I've had mine for years.
The model number underneath says DTH320-4, on the front it says Technology by Motorola.

Never had a problem ever.
I have a cordless phone too, in fact had several varieties.

Where is your dish? Whats in line of site with it? Maybe theres some huge mothership launching every morning directly in front of it which affects the signal.

554040 2007-05-29 00:42:00 The only client-side problem I ever had with Sky - I called them up, they gave me some good tips to try, didn't work, so they sent out a tech person and fixed it promptly. So suggest you call them. I found them efficient and good to deal with overall. Greg (193)
