745885 2009-02-07 22:45:00 Hello

I want to copy a copy-protected DVD (video DVD not data). I was going to use a program I normally use, but since the DVD was copy protected, it would not work.

What should I use? What do you use?

Also, I am not a pirate!!! This happens to be a documentry on steam trains I am copying for my grandpa. It will not be resold or used in any way for unjust gain whatsoever.

745886 2009-02-07 23:21:00 *DVD* to copy it and then use *DVD* to make it onto a DVD iso, ready for burning. bob_doe_nz (92)

Huh? This is still illegal - just because it's 'only a documentary on steam trains', or because it's for your grandpa, does not mean that pirating it is OK.

745889 2009-02-08 00:11:00 Its still copyrighted material, its illegal, that makes you a pirate bud, and thats against forum rules. Chilling_Silence (9)
745890 2009-02-08 00:30:00 The links havent been there for ages, due to copyright issues Speedy Gonzales (78)
745891 2009-02-08 00:49:00 OK it really is illegal which I did not entirely realise to begin with. Oh dear. forrest44 (754)
745892 2009-02-08 00:55:00 Well, if you didnt make it from your own recording, then burn it, then its probably illegal Speedy Gonzales (78)
745893 2009-02-08 01:18:00 Can't you just send him the DVD to watch then get it back later? pctek (84)
745894 2009-02-08 03:24:00 Not sure if this is the case here, but in the states its legal to back up a dvd, but not to break the copy protection plod (107)
