2007-06-07 03:06:00 | Just got one. Didn't occur to me to check first but the thing only just fit into my TT Tsunami. So long it touches the drive bays. And it takes 2!! power connectors. 2? What does it think it needs? Lucky I'd changed PSUs too and the new one has 2 PCIE connectors on it. So if you had 2 in SLI what are you supposed to do for power? Madness. Makes note to self: Measure cases first next time someone orders one of these cards. And probably the Ultra too...........

2007-06-07 04:33:00 | yeah they are an insane size - i did some general measurements for my tsunami case and since i don't use the drive cage if i were to get a 8800GTX i would be ok - but i doubt the stock 430W thermaltake PSU i have would cope at all :O for SLI i would assume you would have to start a mini chernobyl Power plant and use that just for the GFX cards :waughh:

2007-06-07 06:36:00 | Well it fits. It just fits is all. But seriously there are people running 2 cards - what do they use for PSUs? Adapter connectors or are there some with 4 pci-e connectors?

2007-06-07 06:52:00 | I read somewhere that PSU manufacturers are starting to remodel their high-end PSUs with 4x PCI-E connectors. Don't quote me on it, though. Oh, and Pctek, if it's too big for you, I'll have it. :p

2007-06-07 08:33:00 | They will not fit in most if not all mid-tower cases... and TBH a mid-tower is a waste... I got one... basically because I liked the look of it... and I kick myself... it is so hard to work in and I can't get an 8800GTX (which I will be in a few months unless something better comes out) with out getting a new case... :badpc: | The_End_Of_Reality (334) | |
2007-06-07 10:06:00 | I got one last weekend, if you get the gigabyte geforce model it only has the one power connecter, Great card makes a big difference in gaming. | Rayman (12367) | |

2007-06-07 10:45:00 | Is the 8800 GTX even bigger than the GTS? I saw an 8800GTS in a mid tower case. There was at most a couple of cm to spare. Some manufacturers released underclocked cards with no power connectors during the reign of the geforce 6. Perhaps they are doing the same sort of thing with the geforce 8.

2007-06-07 10:48:00 | Yes, well an 8800GTX will NOT even fit in my mid-tower... :( a GTS will as you said with a few CM... True, but then they would not call it a GTX would they? I had a quick look before and couldn't see a Gigabyte 8800GTX with only 1 power connector...
