555766 2007-06-03 12:51:00 Right, this year has pissed the hell out of me, in terms of communications (phone, internet), power and water services....

Earlier this year (around March) commnications systems were down. Phones were not working, ADSL signal lost, so no internet. About a month later, there was a power cut for 5 hours, and for the next three days an annoying and loud generator was used. About 3 weeks after the power cut, the water systems lost pressure and we can't shower, cannot wash the dishes, etc.....for 5 hours.

Just now, we've had another power cut, although for only half an hour.

This is downright pissing me off, and my neighbours.

I want to know, who are responsible for maintaining all these things?

Who can I complain to? Because I'd like to give whoever are responsible for these an earful, and then some.

555767 2007-06-03 12:58:00 Talk to your local council about these issues and get your neighbours to do the same as well.

Also talk to your local power supply people & get your neighbours to do the same.

Where in NZ are you?

555768 2007-06-03 13:50:00 perhaps they're doing maintenance/expansion and aren't giving notice? motorbyclist (188)

555770 2007-06-03 19:45:00 You may rest assured that no-one accessible is responsible for the outages. Anybody you can get hold of will be underpaid, confused, and fed-up with being "roasted" for things they are not able to affect.:(
Those truly responsible are probably conferring, "fact-finding", and consulting, with expense no object.

Sounds like an easy year so far. Try this on for size;

Since January 1st 2007:
washing machine finally crapped out costing $500 in repairs
car decided to cost $700 in repair
2 weeks before car paid off, get rear-ended, car written off
get called day before mothers day, Mother has cancer (operable)
advised rent going up an extra $60 p.w
TV has just crapped out

but to look on the bright side, I did get a fulltime job, and my kid and g/f are fine:thumbs: :D

555773 2007-06-03 23:04:00 ... and someone is most likely having a worse year than me :waughh:

Sue: thanx. But as she said, there really is no point stressing about it, we really can't do a lot other than hope. Shes had the op last week (was just a small lump apparently, and they are testing nearby tissue, she gets those results this week)

555775 2007-06-04 00:48:00 This brings up another situation about power cuts and the sad episode in Auck, What if Mercury had not cut off the power and there was a storm and a power failure for say 4 or 5 hours. The media don't seem to have/want to ask that question:confused: Arnie (6624)
