Her brother will probably slap her silly anyway from name dropping.

556441 2007-06-06 09:28:00 Thanks for all the advice.

We have decided to see what happens next, last time she said she'll call back in 10 minutes......well, it's been 1572 minutes now......

556442 2007-06-06 10:00:00 The important thing is to realise a lot of the "bad" Asian drivers have:
1) Never driven a car before coming to NZ
2) Very rarely been a passenger in a "normal" car before they came to NZ
3) Lived in big cities with very very good public transport systems, so a) never needed to learn to drive, and b) never wanted to learn to drive because of the chaotic traffic.

When I went to Malaysia about 10 years ago, I was amazed at the skill of most of the drivers there - they could squeeze into tight parking spaces like you could never imagine. As yet I haven't seen a "good" NZ driver cope as well in the same situation.

556443 2007-06-06 11:03:00 It is still not too late for your brother to lay a complaint with the Police - they are duty bound to investigate it.Also your brother should obtain all the details of the independent witness and if possible a written statement from them. Also advise the Police of the woman's none too subtle threat to involve a relative who is in the Police - before your brother involves himself in any tribunal hearing he should consult his insurers, it is unlikely they will agree to him participating - As your brother is obviously not at fault, any tribunal is irrelevant- use the Police they are there to help (sometimes)
The woman deserves to be prosecuted for careless use of a motor vehicle. As long as your brother is legally in the country and holds a valid driving license, let the Police establish who is at fault - a police prosecution of the other party is a great way of protecting a no-claims bonus - So go to it

This February we went to the Starlight Symphony concert in the Domain... parking is always a mega hassle. But as (www.imagef1.net.nz) these (www.imagef1.net.nz) pictures (www.imagef1.net.nz) show (www.imagef1.net.nz), I got into a space with less than two feet to manouver.

(ps - the red car in front had plenty of space to exit as he was in front of a driveway)

556445 2007-06-06 12:35:00 good work greg!

i agree with somebody there, but that doesn't change the fact that many asains are pretty shocking. plenty of white drivers who shouldn't be on the roads too.

as for "young guys", we may have a tendency to sit at 70kph, but atleast we know what's going on around us!

Good pictures and parking Greg .

In the third picture [show] with the fists beside the tree, did you notice the third arm to the right, plus the funny looking face on the tree trunk to the left of the fists .

Perhaps it was an 'Ent' tree from Lord of the Rings? :D

556447 2007-06-06 13:49:00 Yep, we've called the police, explained what happened, and can expect a police to investigate within 2 weeks.

Cheers you guys.

EDIT: Oh, and Greg - holy crap. :D

556449 2007-06-07 03:17:00 I'm a perfect driver, of course. So I ride a bicycle.

Now what was that stereotype for cyclists :p Um, Thats right... They never take any notice of red lights.
