2007-06-05 06:04:00 | (Not too sure what you mean by "and server issue too?") Lets say youre in NZ & your with one this forums poplar ISP's at the moment Xnet & Your telephone service is with Telecom, you can switch your toll provider to Xnet or stay with your current telephone service. Some ISPs try & get people to switch your toll provider to there ISP, with offering a $10 discount (this is depending on the ISP). Hope this helps Joe :) It just looks like youse guys have both services tied together like we do here too...that's all... (DSL and the phone)

2007-06-05 13:00:00 | I joined with WorldXchange (that's how I got onto Xnet, eventually) years ago. One of those people who call you up, trying to get you to change your toll provider. Normally I give these kinds of things a wide berth, but they sent me out a list of prices (something most other companies will never do), and I did a comparison against my normal Telecom bill, and it was substantially cheaper. I pay $1.85 for national toll calls for up to two hours (off peak) and $2.35 for on peak. I don't make international toll calls, but a friend asked me for advice about changing toll providers, and showed me who he was considering signing up with, and I showed him WorldXchange - I think South Africa was about $4/2hours cheaper than the outfit he was looking at, and other places were similarly cheaper. On more than one occasion I have had other places ring up to get me to switch, and when I tell them what I'm paying with WorldXchange they say "oh, well we can't match that I'm afraid". The best, though, was recently Telecom sent their flashy promotional material saying "We'll do almost anything to get you back", with details inside. They didn't even get close. I just laughed and binned it. IMO, the only way to get cheaper toll calls than WorldXchange is to use VOIP. Im tolls with Xnet.I only called 30 times .Mostly 5 minutes to 27 minutes talk to hong kong and lol my bill came out to $113 I think I'll keep reminding myself to use skype

2007-06-05 13:05:00 | It amazes me that so many people still use Xtra. Shows marketing works with the sheeple huh. They are one of the most expensive ISPs around but still people stick eith them. I've been with Xnet for nearly a year and they're marvellous. And CHEAP. If you know of another ISP which offers unlimited data usage, full speed download, for less than $50 and doesn't require the hassle of changing phone calling and everything, then I'd like to hear it...

2007-06-05 13:09:00 | Vodem and Vodafone, it is not particularly fast, reliable, or cheap. However, it does let me be completely separated from Telescam, add in the ability to use it on a boat, an island, or a bus and it has its advantages. (If Woosh wireless was available here, I'd be back on that like a shot.)

2007-06-05 13:51:00 | Not much use though if they don't anymore, $50 would get me 10GB, less than I can get with xtra.. Only reason would be for portibility, though I don't need that so really there's no point

Did the $113 bill include your internet charges as well? Skype is cheaper, no arguments there. |
