Like the guy who turned up here yesterday with his PC that no lkonger loaded into Windows.

Even though he had been educated..............he admitted clicking yes to download the thing he couldn't remember the name of but promised to make his Win98 run so much better.

Actually . . . and as parsimonious as I am, all the listed stuff (except for the Linksys Router) are free . . . .

Oh, and YES . . the Windows firewall is for incoming . . I goofed on that . . but I just got carried away again . . . sorry .

I don't run System Restore, as I said it is a hidey-hole for malware . . . BUT . . here's the big butt . . . you gotta have some way to return your system to originally installed, and without a hidden partition or system restore, then the very best thing is an XP installation disc CD-Rom . . not just a repair disc .

ALSO . . IF and WHEN you run your security scrubbers and cleaners, it's always best to do it in SAFE MODE . That's a given!!!!!
