746932 2009-02-12 20:04:00 Upgrading MS OSes over the top of each other is never a good idea. Always best to clean install.

If you do want to play with Win7 and have a heap of RAM in your PC, try installing it in a VM. Get VirtualBox (http://www.virtualbox.org/) and install it in that. Runs ok and gives you a chance to check it out.

746933 2009-02-13 02:06:00 I've been meaning to try a VM setup for ages and now you have prodded me into doing it! Hey, this is great fun. Win7 is now running fine in a VM. Great for testing stuff, of course, so I will likely add other images as well.

Thanks - I am glad I got my A into gear!

746934 2009-02-13 02:08:00 I'm running a W7 VM on an OCed E8400 with 4gb of RAM just fine;)

Its pretty fast, faster than what I'd expected

746935 2009-02-13 04:32:00 One thing I can't figure out, in spite of trying to make sense of the manual, is how to get access to a USB memory stick. They talk of USB filters but not how to find one! linw (53)
746936 2009-02-13 19:00:00 Any OS that requires more than 10Gb must be loaded with a lot of sh|t

And according to what I have read, if the specs are good enough for Vista, they are good enough for Win7

My instalation of 7/64 says it is 22gigs
