556827 2007-06-07 21:54:00 Is the 8800 GTX even bigger than the GTS?

Yes.
Theres a thread on Gameplanet with specific measurements.
Which I didn't pay attention to.:D

556829 2007-06-08 05:57:00 For extra 4/6pin plugs you can get molex converters much like any other power plug (SATA etc.).

Also Craig on OCNZ has two 8800GTX's. But he has a 1kW PSU so I figure it has the plugs already :waughh:

556831 2007-06-08 06:33:00 Why not go totally stupid and get an ASUS EN8800GTX Aquatank? It takes four slots, two for the video, two for the water cooler. Cost $AUS1249. Graham L (2)

I was looking at that... it is stock overclocked and higher than the 8800GTX Ultra... so water cooling is needed :p but will not work when I go 8800GTX SLI  (will be a while... :p) The_End_Of_Reality (334)
556833 2007-06-08 08:51:00 Pity if you want to add any more devices to a four slot motherboard, though. :( Graham L (2)
556834 2007-06-08 08:59:00 Pity if you want to add any more devices to a four slot motherboard, though . :( Well that card will render my 2 PCI slots (one for the water tank and the other spare below it) useless and the GFX card itselsf will use a PCI-E 16x slot and a PCI-E 1x slot . . . leaving a single PCI-E 16x slot :waughh:

How about this: . ascent . co . nz/productspecification . aspx?ItemID=355418" target="_blank">www . ascent . co . nz 8800GTX Ultra @ 684MHz core and 2322MHz RAM  and that is 1 slot water cooled with an external tank by the looks of it .

556835 2007-06-08 09:44:00 I've found that while there's always pretty much NO clearance, they always do fit somehow. I had to take the PCI slot bracket thingy (on the Thermaltake Soprano) off to fit one though.

I certainly was shocked to see how huge it was the first time I saw one.

Lots of higher powered (600W+) psus have four connecters, but I'd be inclined to not worry about it, and use the adapters provided for two connecters.

Not quite so much off my suppliers.
But I got this card because the courier lost my replacement X1900XTX and it was the last one, and they didn't have anything equivalent so I asked for credit instead and the credit was not much less than the wholesale cost of the 8800GTX.
