555820 2007-06-04 03:49:00 I like using Xnet.Never have a problem with them.My speed was 3mbps with slingshot after changing about a year ago.I can connect up to 6.5/7mBps and the full 700k upload Ninjabear (2948)
555821 2007-06-04 03:55:00 Quicksilver/whoosh wired adsl for umm 3yrs i think .

Been with same outfit in one form or another since 1994 so it's partly laziness that I stick with them, partly I doubt I could improve much by switching .

Mostly happy to begin with, but the last 12 mth or so the speed has dropped, had numerous outages, and my unlimited plan no longer exists so now I pay same $50/mth for a 10gb cap . Only in NZ are speeds/data useage getting WORSE year by year . Actually I don't know if that's true but it pisses me off :waughh:

On the plus side, there have been no outages in the last 2-3 mths I can remember, and speed seems to have remained stable . From what I understand, speed is an issue to do with location more than what isp you have, so no point searching around (corrections wlecome on that point) .

555822 2007-06-04 03:58:00 Well I was with SlingShot.Every evening at around 5pm-9pm The speed was so slow it was so irrtating and ping was above 700ms.

When I joined Xnet. All speeds and ping went away.I get around 50ms and like 6.5mbps compared to slingshot 2mbps-3.5mbps

555826 2007-06-04 04:13:00 It amazes me that so many people still use Xtra. Shows marketing works with the sheeple huh.

They are one of the most expensive ISPs around but still people stick eith them.

I've been with Xnet for nearly a year and they're marvellous.
And CHEAP.
What are they like for toll charges? That was the only reason I went for Xtra. Not to say that I won't change in the future.

(and note, I do realise I missed some major players (like iHug) but I only had 10 options)

Compare jetstream.xtra.co.nz with xnet.co.nz

I have done that & you’re still paying around about the same, only a few cents difference.

555829 2007-06-04 05:07:00 I'll compare a few for you then...

FS/128, 10GB: Xnet = 44.19, Xtra = $59.95/month
FS/FS, 15GB: Xnet = 65.31, Xtra = $79.95/month
FS/FS, 30GB: Xnet = 80.67, Xtra = $99.95/month

And a note for the Xtra plans: Plan price is an additional $10 for customers who do not have all their direct dial calling with Telecom.

So which ones are very similar in price again?
