556122 2007-06-04 16:01:00 China has been getting a black eye in the dog and cat food market with their purportedly tainted ingredients . Many pet owners are enraged over their companion animal's early horizontal stature and assumption of room temperature and rightly so! (Play dead, Fido! . . Eww . . . I think he took it too seriously!)

. . . (ibid: the powers that be this week sent a rather more powerful message that the country was cleaning up its act . Zheng Xiaoyu, former head of the State Food and Drug Administration, was sentenced to death by a Beijing court for corruption and dereliction of duty .

Zheng allegedly took $850,000 in bribes from eight companies who subsequently punted sub-standard food and pharmaceutical products . The result was numerous deaths including, in 2004, that of "at least 13 babies . . . in Anhui province after being fed fake milk powder containing no nutrition", :horrified according to Reuters . )

Now, it's our dentifrice!

Seems the industrialist-up-and-coming (or should we say: "Arrived"-) offshore petfoods producer/nation has gone and stepped in #2 all over again . ( . theregister . co . uk/2007/06/01/chinese_toothpaste_squeezed/" target="_blank">www . theregister . co . uk)

Diethylene glycol information here . ( . com/tag/diethylene+glycol" target="_blank">technorati . com)

What's next? Radioactive lingerie?

556123 2007-06-04 23:02:00 The manufacturer of the contaminated tooth paste, Suzhou City Jinmao Daily Chemicals Co. Ltd, also makes shampoo, detergents, soap, VASELINE, hair care products, and all brought to you from our friends at: http://jinmao.en.alibaba.com/

China also manufacturers most of the world's supply of Vitamins & Minerals for home firms to repack as their own.

The melamine that contaminated the pet food supply and killed so many cats & dogs is also used by a US manufacturer to bind Cattle, Sheep, Goat & Fish food. The US has exported the fish pellets to fish farms in various countries. The FDA talks about "dilution factor"

US firms fed the recalled contaminated pet food to their Chicken and Hogs in other huge farms ~ now in the human food supply. The US. FDA again talks about the so called dilution factor.....

Have fun out there....

556124 2007-06-05 04:55:00 Perhaps this is an argument for homeopathic "remedies" . At maximum dilution, there's nothing left of the "active" ingredient . So as long as the water is trustworthy . . .

Homeopathic food still seems to have a few practical problems .
