558079 2007-06-11 05:19:00 I want to get an MP3 player with microphone, rechargeable batteries, stereo, and SD expansion capabilities.

There are so many different formats available and different expansion card types..what I don't want it SD Micros..they cost too much.

Who has a good idea for one at about 2 gig internal and pretty bullet-proof?

I don't care if it's AAA or some coin-type batteries, as long as they are rechargeable.

558080 2007-06-11 05:24:00 I'm not sure of the quality if player recorder that you will get being that your looking for something that is a "jack of all trades" but good luck with your quest SurferJoe. As long as you get one that will play MP3 files you should be ok, since MP3 is the most generic but slightly aged format.
What's your budget?

I see the Sandisk Sansa ( . sandisk . com/Products/Catalog" target="_blank">www . sandisk . com(1166)-SanDisk_Sansa_e200_Series_MP3_Players . aspx) and it has a 2 gig with mike and earbuds, rechargeable, etc, but the expansion is SD Micro and SD Micros are expensive here yet . . over 3 x the cost of the standard SDs .

Here the price is $119 . 99 US, but I saw them at Wal-Mart for $49 . 95 US .

I just would like to keep the SD standard cards that I have for everything else to use in it too .

I could and might spend $200US for something that is worth it . I need the recording capacity via microphone too . . . that's important .

I bought a SONY ICD-B300 ( . sony . com/US/perl/model-home . pl?mdl=ICDB300&LOC=3" target="_blank">esupport . sony . com) recorder, but it has VOX and equalization, which is no good for music . It won't work with MP3 . . but I didn't want, or need it to, at that time .

558083 2007-06-11 07:04:00 There are players out there that will do what you want with the help of 3rd party add ons. You also need to take into account the usability of the software that comes with the device as often the device might be great but the software might not. winmacguy (3367)
558084 2007-06-11 07:49:00 You tend to get better selection in the US, so someone a bit closer to home might be able to help you a bit more.

Full size SD slots on mp3 players aren't very common, but I'm sure someone is catering to that market.

558085 2007-06-11 09:09:00 I had a look at this (www.legendmemory.com)a while ago. No internal memory, relies totally on removable media, but has a full sized SD slot. pine-o-cleen (2955)

Does it record audio and have an FM receiver which I think is what SurferJoe was requiring?

558087 2007-06-11 12:20:00 I got one of those from a local store a while ago. If I said what the sound was like the moderators would have to ban me. TGoddard (7263)

Does it sound like it "blows goats" ?;)

SurferJoe you might want to just get a good MP3 player that comes with add ons ...maybe...
