558858 2007-06-13 21:18:00 Just opened the latest copy of NZ PCWorld, flipped straight to the portable player comparison, and found no less than three grammatical errors and one factual error in the first two pages!

Bring back the editor I say, (or release him from his cage)!

(Creative Zen got editor's choice above iPod - suck on that, Winmacguy!)

558859 2007-06-13 21:52:00 Creative Zen got PC editors choice... good for him/her.:)
Is that the June edition of NZ PC world?

558860 2007-06-13 21:54:00 Sadly the content is gradually dumbing down too. You don't have to go too far back to see a significant difference in depth.

I find PCW less and less useful as time goes on, but I'm not planning on cancelling my subscription any time soon. Thank heavens PF1 is here for quality advice from people who know how computers work.

Cheers

And the factual error would be what?

Perhaps you're just getting smarter and smarter with each passing day . . .

Ok, call me picky! Both MPV and MP4 (although MPV is less commonly used) are extensions representing files that can contain MPEG-4 video.

Needless to say, no comment was made about the grammatical errors - if I were Billy T I'd be shuddering at the prospect of reading the rest of the mag!

Having said that, I learned a heck of a lot of my 'puter knowledge from reading the mag over the last ten years - the articles helped me adventure to places previously unknown .

And although Scott's response to Billy was a bit sarcy, it smacks a lot of being true - the more we learn, the less there is to learn .

Not according to the University ads on TV. They say the more you learn about something the more you realise there is to find out. Just because you have developed a version of something that doesn't mean there isn't a better or easier way to do it.
