| 558928 | 2007-06-20 19:42:00 | The mag these days has changed. The disc seems to have disappeared, the questions in the Q & A seem to be less informative (but then again maybe thats because I have learnt more in regards to PC repair), there seems to be a lot more advertising, and the hardware comparisons seem to be getting further and further apart. The ONLY reason I bought last months issue was the Anti-virus comparison, and noticed in that there was only the editors choice, but no other highly recommended. As well as this, I would actually like to see a page or 2 about Linux in the mag (and NOT freaking reviews on Ubuntu!!) such as a linux basics series or something similar, even tips for the more hardened user. Quite often people go to experiment with Linux, get lost somewhere and then ditch it. |

| 558929 | 2007-06-20 21:16:00 | The only thing I'd call for is a less glossy paper and less advertising pages. The adverts p me off totally! The only thing in it worth reading are the advertisements. And Geoffs page. When he isn't writing about linux. Haven't bought the last two issues. Just my way of making a protest about losing the funnies page. |

What he (assuming he is really called Graham in the real world) didn't realise is that you are merely pointing out the errors and by no means you are telling the world that you are better than them. I don't believe he has the intention to degrade you, just that he was reasoning from his own perspective instead from yours. Come on guys, don't be like my HWMBO. Cheers :) |

The WSJ has just been bought buy Rupert Murdoch for about $1 billion US because of its great subscription based readership. What does that have to do with NZ PC World? Answer: Walt Mossberg is a renowned technology writer and the guy who recently interviewed Bill and Steve on stage at All things D. |

He was simply being pedantic. Full Stop. I wasn't. As mentioned, I tried to take a bit of p... out of whoever was editing that particular article. I mean, ***, I could have (almost) perfect grammar myself, considering that I studied English linguistics for over a year at Auckland university and am reasonably well read and educated. He just needs to get over himself or deal with his degree of illness. This is just the chat forum of PF1 ain't it, after all. |
