imho, mac-h8er has given it mac a go, dislikes it for genuine reasons, and you're just trying to write him off as being "a typical pc tech".

has it ever occurred to the mac fan club that perhaps people who dislike the mac OS actually do for genuine reasons? i mean if mac users can prefer mac over windows/linux i'm sure it can work both ways can it not?

quite true, but with a name like mach8er he was never going to like it anyway

I realize that MACH8R is only ever going to tolerate the Macs that he deals with during the day, all I am saying is that regardless off what he thinks of the platform he had better suck it in and get used to it because the Mac platform is here to stay. That means that they will become more common in the work place and schools whether he likes it or not. There are a growing number of people who are choosing Macs instead of PCs as their new computer. It has nothing to do with my preference towards them or the fact that I consider Windows to be a crap platform which I do.
50% of customers buying Macs in Apple stores are "ex" Windows users.

If you replace the word "mac" with "Destiny church" and replace the words "PC / Windows" with "other religions" it makes for interesting reading. BT would be very proud.

He probably would if I was a Christian.
I don't expect Mac8r will ever like Macs, doesn't mean that he will be able to avoid them in his line of work.

559232 2007-06-15 21:20:00 I fully agree with anyone who hates Macs. I was stuck with one for a few days and never touched it, apart from checking email (on a "tabless" browser )

My old school also had Macs in the classroom, so don't say I didn't try one.

Thats what happens when you try to use a Mac while thinking like a PC user, you crunch the gears and end up with a tainted view. It works the other way too, I use Windows while thinking like a Mac user and it all goes to custard.

559234 2007-06-15 23:15:00 You know people instead of destroying your old iMacs you could donate them or at least the parts to a worthwhile charity, My old bondi blue could do with a supercharge, although i do have to say i mainly use it to VNC (Chicken of the VNC) to my windows machine, so speed isn't an issue,

and the kids are becoming more familiar with PCs rather than Macs (the oldest daughter had to show me where stuff was on the mac when i first used mac OSX last year, )

I personally like Macs and PCs, and for that matter Linux (elive linux), basically anything that isn't Windows 3.11

559236 2007-06-15 23:22:00 Winmacguy should have his name changed to [edited], Then when he goes to post he could read it and go...

"Oh yeah, Thats a good idea, I'm already naked after all, I can just get out the Vaseline and get jiggy with my Steve Knobs "real man" doll instead of posting narrow minded fanatical retarded crap on this message board"

And thus, The world will be a better place.
