Most use of broadband makes no contribution to the NZ economy. The few organisatiions which need broadband have access. The mass who want it for playing should be prepared to pay wnat it costs for it. I want a decent social system, and a good public health system, among many other things. Broadband rubbish is very low on my list. | Graham L (2) | ||

Scientists are always complaining they can't send stuff overseas. So do movie people. And not all of us download TV, or even warez. I'm prepared to pay for it, so are tons of rural users. |

Weta don't seem to have any trouble . Perhaps people wanting to upload to youTube might be restricted . But that's hardly going to stop NZ taking over from Hpollywood . There are other factors involved . |

| 560581 | 2007-06-23 15:03:00 | but again where do the telcos get their funds/capital? either way we pay for it, just a bit more fairly based on use rather than being a taxpayer and with several different telcos, i don't see how'd they sort it out... actually how DO they sort it out? i've always wondered who owns/erects/buries/maintains the power grid, and assuming providers actually have to produce the electricity, how do they keep track of who contributed/consumed what? |

Believe me,the bush would not be getting Broad band if left to Telco's. I tend to think that community will benifit from gov. via taxpayer forking out. Re medical,I would like to know how much of tax $ reaches patient as apposed to admin costs. This point should be sorted sap. God its awful to be right all the time. |
