| 748647 | 2009-02-17 11:51:00 | Have you installed motherboard drivers (((not mentioned in opening post) may include integrated video driver), they are needed for the OS to communicate correctly with the motherboard)?, and video card drivers (if it has a separate card); XP's built-in video driver is only 2D, not 3D capable. Could also replace CMOS battery (will be very overdue if it's the original), you'll maybe need to reset the BIOS settings for the CPU after you do this as the BIOS will possibly set the CPU speed to the base settings (very slow!). This may help you compreviews.about.com Go into bios and record the FSB and CPU frequency multiplier settings before you change the battery, alternatively find out what the settings should be for that CPU (you might find it's been running at the wrong speed!). Could be limited adjustments according to the manual download.asrock.com |
