| 560251 | 2007-06-18 20:45:00 | Get Ascent to make more than 1 partition on the drive. Makes it easier with Acronis, so you don't have to mess about putting images on DVD or CD. But I LIKE messing around burning disks etc.! :) Partitioning will be top of my list. Since I also have Partition Magic, I wouldn't let Ascent do that fun job. Mrs brig and I have our computers networked plus we both have second drives installed. We're going to be the most backed up family ever! I plan to set up the new box with whatever programmes I need and burn a "pristine" image to disks for disaster recovery. I've already done that for Mrs brig who's just had a new hard drive installed. I can't wait for her to seriously crash it so I can show off my new toy. :) Incremental backups are on the list for investigation when I'm sure I've got the other right. Thanks for your suggestion pctek |

| 560254 | 2007-06-19 02:52:00 | Some people setup their partitions so they will have Windows and Programs on c: and all their data on d: c: would be around 10Gig and d: would be the rest of the drive. If you save something in My Documents(XP) or Documents(Vista) you would want it to go directly onto d: and not the defalt c: location. |
