Yep, then it gets interesting.

What I meant was that before I had a car I actually had lots of money to spend. Now I just fill up the car, and pay car bills etc, and of course the trip to America..... and have far less left for movies and things than my friend who earns half what I do.

Guess how much of my weekly wage goes into my pocket.

Ready?

Zero.

Now, would you like to know how much debt I have?

Not to knock you try and bring you down but enjoy the freedom and cash while you can.

559286 2007-06-15 08:50:00 I could recommend being a plumber- there's one around my way who drives a Bently Continental... and yes he's had the sign writing on the side.

I feel sorry for you Metla (I'm sure you have some compensation by being a husband/father!), but then again the tax man takes 1/2 of everything I get my grubby hands on :(

Try running 2 cars, Paying a mortgage, suporting 3 people, paying the bills, food, medical, etc etc etc.At least you have a mortgage (and a serious commodity for when you need extra money). I too support 3 people on the one income, we have no savings and no chance of ever buying a house. And 2 student loans to pay off. But we get by :) (usually doing after hours I.T. repair as needed or sometimes SWMBO looks after the neighbours kid for a few hours)

I wasn't trying to imply that I have it as hard as anyone else here. My parents are the same as you, they can pay the bills (and interest) but don't have anything left for themselves.

Nor do I expect to be able to afford to spend money all the time, although I will try my best to be in a good financial position all my life.

Of course from what I've heard, such plans tend to change dramatically as soon as you start having kids .... :o

Whoa, don't feel sorry for me, I get by very very well...These years have been the best of my life, and there is much more to the situation then what Ive mentioned.

559290 2007-06-15 10:17:00 um..I've never charged anyone when I fix or setup stuff for them..
I guess then I don't have to bother with them when it screws up again if I don't want to~
