1436000 2017-06-01 22:43:00 Onelogin, security breach

"OneLogin, an online service that lets users manage logins to sites and apps from a single platform, says it has suffered a security breach in which customer data was compromised, including the ability to decrypt encrypted data."

1436001 2017-06-01 22:51:00 If you are going to use one, don't use an online one. No issues with KeePass (as yet.) autechre (266)
1436002 2017-06-01 23:18:00 I use an android app to store mine, I don't consider it particularly likely that someone will steal my phone, crack my password manager, and use my logins. They'd need my fingerprint to login to the phone for a start.
Far more likely they'd throw away the sim and factory reset the phone. I agree with Autechre, seems the biggest issue here was using an online service to store them.

1436003 2017-06-02 00:21:00 Yeah KeePass seems good so far, aside from the update notifications over HTTP bug
LastPass had that issue recently as a "stored on your PC" password manager, where the browser plugin could still expose your data, so that's also something worth keeping in mind.

1436004 2017-06-02 04:52:00 Well I use one, it's in my head.

Works so far, old age hasn't wiped the contents yet.........although I had to think a bit the other day using one I hadn't used in a while.

No-one has figured out how to breach it yet. :-)

1436005 2017-06-02 08:39:00 My password manager is a Word document that I keep on my desktop.

Works very well. Can't see anything wrong with that.

1436006 2017-06-02 09:46:00 Me as well Roscoe,'cept I keep mine on Google Drive. trouble is, if someone nicks my phone I haven't got a swipe or fingerprint to access it and Drive is just a click away.

I should really set up something!!!!

1436007 2017-06-02 20:43:00 I used to keep mine in the freezer but have found somewhere more obvious now gary67 (56)
1436008 2017-06-02 23:47:00 The problem with just keeping a word .doc on your Desktop, is your PC can get stolen, or broken in to via TeamViewer as happened last year. Gotta also make sure it's backed up, coz if your HDD crashes you're in for a world of pain :(
The problem with keeping passwords in your head, is they tend to be easy to guess and re-used. See: https://haveibeenpwned.com

1436009 2017-06-03 09:33:00 I have a password protected Excel file where I store all my passwords and i have lots of different ones.
The Excel file is backed up each time I create a new password for something e.g a new On-line banking password or a forum.
I also periodically change the password for the Excel file (Upper case lower case and numbers) . Some years ago I forgot it and spent hours trying many attempts before I finally remembered it.
Maybe I am a Luddite but I am still dubious about the Cloud.
