1434764 2017-04-30 10:57:00 I came across the following today with which I totally agree:

www.stuff.co.nz

I can't understand why anyone would buy bottled water when you can get the same thing out of the tap for a fraction of the price.:waughh:

Because you can't carry a tap around with you.

1434767 2017-04-30 19:57:00 water bottles are awkward to clean and cost too much for anything half way practical. You can get bottled water for $1 at the supermarket in a bottle that's just as good as many of the cheap options and already filled. Personally I don't buy a lot of water but when I do I refill the bottle from the tap a few times before throwing it out. It's just about convenience. I totally agree that expensive branded water is ridiculous though. I also hate sipper bottles and always remove the lid so I can drink like an adult. dugimodo (138)
1434768 2017-04-30 20:19:00 It is all just a very successful marketing exercise. If you want/need water in a hurry or where a tap is not readily available that is fine but otherwise there are far better uses for your cash. CliveM (6007)

I would like to see the reaction when You walked down the street & latched onto one of those. Only babies are allowed to do that. PJ.

why buy bottled anything, coke, beer
all the same arguments apply.

Bottled water is expensive. My GOD, what a revelation. Who would have known.

But you can fill a normal drink bottle with tap water.
I think when there are such things like the recent Hawkes bay contamination, fair enough, but those of us with properly treated water, come on.....

I see someone says they do because they don't like the chlorine taste. So put a jug in the fridge! Chlorine clears quickly from the water....

1434772 2017-04-30 23:14:00 ............and then you have all these people who can't go anywhere without clutching a bottle of water, as though they have become addicted. It's a relatively recent phenomenon  Terry Porritt (14)

Where does it go? From the jug in the fridge. Does it evaporate faster than the water, thereby leaving just water?
