I did most of what you recommend but went HP Here (www.pbtech.co.nz) Bought one and will decide if to get another once it arrives. This is the newer version than the one step son has been using for 3 years. |

HP have improved in the last few years - they used to have a lousy reputation, but if the price was right and with a decent warranty you should be ok. Let us know how it turns out. |

| 1434705 | 2017-05-07 07:35:00 | If I want to to download a full Win10 iso do I have to use the media creation tool? I want to download before Wednesday when our BB rolls over for the month. |

If you want the whole ISO then its the easiest. If you want to only upgrade a current W10 to the latest, download the upgrade Assistant. Explained windows-10-creators-update-v1703-upgrade-assistant (www.thewindowsclub.com). Still downloads the whole OS and installs. "almost" completely idiot proof :) |

| 1434707 | 2017-05-07 19:28:00 | Left it downloading overnight, its on 99% hopefully finished before I leave for work soon. I will have 2 laptops to do so thought it best to get the Iso so only need to download once |

| 1434708 | 2017-05-07 23:17:00 | ..... since I'm going to wipe them and install Windows from scratch anyway. Most new laptops are absolutely riddled with bloatware and trialware. A wipe & reload is a very good idea :) Not sure if your purchase has an SSD. I would consider getting a SSD installed. It really makes a big difference . |

| 1434709 | 2017-05-08 07:40:00 | Budget doesn't stretch to SSD's but I'm not that bothered to be honest, I have one in my work computer and doesn't make that much difference except to the booting up. Got the latest Windows 10 Iso overnight and have downloaded all the other installers I need. Not going to install Office though as mine is 07 so going with Thunderbird and Libre |
