1434803 2017-05-01 05:46:00 Anyone bought any cycle stuff from wiggle.co.nz
It appears to be UK based.
Wondering if a NZ buyer would get stung for duty or GST
Looking at a couple of tires.

1434804 2017-05-01 06:30:00 I have, and from oz version. Check there shipping may work out better, and it was pretty quick.

As regards duty, with anything over about $60 you could be up for duty. And there's another value where you may attract gst as well. In the hundreds I believe.

1434805 2017-05-01 08:08:00 Yes quick shipping and good prices. Clothing sizes are as indicated too for once. Cheap Chinese clothes tend to be on the small side so a medium is really a small gary67 (56)
1434806 2017-05-01 08:27:00 Handlebar bag ($120ish), front pannier rack and a Brooks saddle. Fast and free shipping. I was not stung for duty or GST. Used the British site. user (1404)

Far too many bad experiences for my liking.

1434808 2017-05-01 22:26:00 The number of reviews on the UK based site is a little worrying. Considering the huge number of transactions which must have occurred, only 15 reviews have been submitted. There may also be a tendency for bad experiences to be recorded rather than those who have had no problems. Personally, I was not aware of such a site and my good experiences are not included. How true is this for others? I have made a point with some companies to seek out a review site, in one instance, for campgrounds and express my bad experience. Very few others had done such reviews so it must be very skewed towards the bad experiences.

I can't comment on the Aussie site...

1434809 2017-05-01 22:53:00 Thanks for the replies.
Jury is still out on Wiggle.
Does make it look attractive when the prices are double from NZ suppliers.
Aussie prices work out the same.
I'm not in a hurry, wont be riding much in Winter.
Maybe a special will come in NZ before Summer.

www.whatsmyduty.org.nz

Generally, if under NZ$400 incl post , then no duty (as its not worth collection costs)
Some items still attract duty , no matter what the cost . Yep, NZ still has some protected industries. So much for free trade :)

Ive bought from here(below) , new Shimano disk brakes . Very cheap & fast delivery (UK based ?) .

1434812 2017-05-02 06:13:00 Also have a look at probikekit New Zealand, ships from the UK but everything is based on NZ rates, good prices too and they do Black Friday when its on. Returns are also great as I returned a bike GPS that after 3 months stopped holding a charge, they refunded me as soon as they got it back. gary67 (56)
