| 1434799 | 2017-05-01 03:41:00 | I have a Brother DCP 1510 Multifunction mono laser printer. I purchased it in October 2014, and it must qualify as the worst printer that I have ever had. In recent months it has been kinking the top right hand corner of each page, more recently the first page through most days jams, concertinas, and must be removed with great difficultly. A few questions: Can I do anything to remedy or prevent this? Can I use this machine as a scanner only and print everything on my canon pixma - I don't want to have to select each time I need to print. What is a recommended multifunction printer, preferably mono laser. | Brucem (8688) | ||

It may not be worth the cost to get it fixed. Could be something as simple as worn pickup or guide rollers . It should have lasted longer than 2.5 years. What volume of printing are you doing ? Could also be damp paper issues . Try a new, sealed ream . |

Went right off HP after a debacle over the ink. Have you tried different paper? Rifling the paper first? Of course you can use it as a scanner and print from another...no problem. Set this as default scan, the other as default print. |

| 1434802 | 2017-05-01 05:57:00 | Folding the corner and concertining are usually caused by the paper curling too much after going through the fuser (the hot bit). This can be fixed by either turning the paper over so it curls the other way or putting in fresh paper. There maybe something in the paper path, so check for anything thing that may catch the paper. It wouldn't hurt to clean the paper feed rollers, use some detergent on a cloth and give them a good scrub. Wipe off with a dry cloth. As mentioned above, rifling the paper before putting it in the paper tray helps with the feeding. Google for the service manaul if you need to pull it apart. |
