749746 2009-02-20 21:03:00 Hi Guys

I have a few music apps that require the Lame.dll

Where would you install it ?

Program Files ? in its own folder ?

I am setting up a new C drive and like to be tidy.

749747 2009-02-20 21:12:00 Put it anywhere you like. Just redirect the program to the dll file. bob_doe_nz (92)
749748 2009-02-20 21:32:00 Or in the same folder where the program is Speedy Gonzales (78)
749749 2009-02-20 23:20:00 C:\Program Files\LAME\ would be my choice, and then direct everything else to it Agent_24 (57)
749750 2009-02-21 02:55:00 As the boys say, Install it anywhere.Mine is on my desktop, but Audacity , if that's what you're using, will recognise it whereever it is and allow file conversion to take place seamlessly. willbry (1555)
749751 2009-02-21 22:05:00 Some programs require that lame.dll goes into the program's 'plugins' folder - located within the program's own special folder in Program Files. You can put it anywhere though, if your program lets you pick where it is.

I use C:\Program Files\LAME\ for the executable encoder (lame.exe) and the files that come with it...

I think I will put it in C:\Program Files\Lame firstly, then if a program asks for it I will put it in their own folder.
