749671 2009-02-20 18:29:00 I recently bought and installed a canon lide100 scanner on my desktop running XP. It worked perfectly until I installed a new printer - an Oki C5650. The scanner hasn't run since. Does anyone know of any software conflicts between these two? Is there any way to get the scanner running again? Brett Mudge (13585)
749672 2009-02-20 19:00:00 What do you mean the scanner hasn't run since, you can't launch the scanner application or when you tell it to scan it does nothing or......?

How are they plugged into the computer? Via a hub, pci card or back plane ports?

749673 2009-02-20 19:37:00 When I try to scan I receive the following message - "The scanner driver supported by this software is not installed. Install it and then retry". The software is installed.

The scanner is connected via USB.

749674 2009-02-20 19:42:00 Have you tried reinstalling the drivers? stormdragon (6013)
749675 2009-02-20 19:56:00 Yes - 2 or 3 times. Brett Mudge (13585)
749676 2009-02-20 20:33:00 Try taking out the software for Both devices, reboot even if it doesn't say to - load back in the scanner software - see if it works OK - if so then reload in the printer software, then see if there are any problems. wainuitech (129)

Uninstalled software. Restarted. Reinstalled. Scanner & printer worked.
Have tried to scan a couple of hours later and the scanner is not detected again. I'm wondering if there is a problem with my usb ports. Time to take the machine to the hospital I think.
