749398 2009-02-19 22:42:00 PS2 mouse not responding, tried a new USB mouse with the same symptom. Reinstalled XP but produced no positive results.

Any suggestions?

Yup. done all those and also updated the BIOS.

Using slipstreamed CD with unattended install features

749403 2009-02-20 00:05:00 Did you remove anything with Nlite??

If so, what?

Because, if you remove the wrong applications / services etc in Nlite, it can affect the install / Windows later

 OK cheating then :p

What about if you try a normal install - boot from a XP CD, see if the mouse works.

Will try a normal install later this afternoon before throwing away the MB.

749406 2009-02-20 01:01:00 Also try removing the CMOS battery - leave a about 5 minutes then put it back - sometimes strange things happen. wainuitech (129)
749407 2009-02-20 01:24:00 I wouldn't chuck the board. Tried other USB devices? Like speakers, kbs, cameras etc? They work? Then its not the ports. pctek (84)
