749358 2009-02-19 10:35:00 Hello I just bought a new N Router it is a cnet one and my pc can connect to the LAN but not the internet.

I am running windows vista home premium 64bit edition it is only the one pc that is having the problem. I can connect to the internet fine on my laptop just not on my desktop which is running on wifi.

I have two other pcs on the network and they are fine but they are hardwired in. It is very annoying help would be appreciated thanks.

749359 2009-02-19 10:42:00 Have you configured / enabled the wireless in the router, and enabled WPA / WEP on it and the Vista PC?

And selected the right channel, if both let you select a channel?

749361 2009-02-19 20:48:00 You have to go into the wireless settings. I dont use Vista, so I cant tell you where it is. Double click on the wireless icon on the taskbar. I think you can access them through here Speedy Gonzales (78)
749362 2009-02-19 21:01:00 Is this new router an all-in-one unit or do you have a seperate router for your broadband connection that the Cnet one connects to? CYaBro (73)
749363 2009-02-20 12:53:00 Click the orb and type cmd then press enter
At the prompt type ipconfig /all
report back with this info.
Would be helpful if you could do the same on a working PC too.

To the original poster:
You have a laptop, that accesses the internet fine. Correct? How does the laptop connect? Wireless or via ethernet cable?

You have 2 other computers that access the internet fine. These connect via ethernet cable too. Correct?

Your Windows Vista computer will not access the internet. Wirelessly or via ethernet cable?

Just making sure :)
