What does a Moderator actually do? Is it alot of work? And is it hard to start and maintain a forum? Thats was all. Cheers:nerd: |

Moderators here have to • remove spam posts • deal with people who brake the rules • lock threads that brake the rules • move threads that users post in the wrong forum • etc… And is it hard to start and maintain a forum? Yes, it can be hard starting (but it all depends on the forum subject) & maintain a forum (as you have forum upgrades, deal with spam bots etc…) I Hope this helps, if you have any other questions let me know :) |

But if you're a no-lifer like me and spend most of your day online, then nope - it's an easy call managing a forum. The worst of it is handling the crud from Russian, Brazillian and Korean spammers. |

I'm not familiar with vBulletin, but pretty sure there's an active community for support similar to phpBB. People donate heaps of their time and expertise, no cost. I've just implemented a couple of anti-spambot measures on my forums and they're working a treat. Anyway, if you get yourself a domain and want help in setting up a forum I'll gladly help. |

But I have start an A+ course as a beginner so hopefully that will point me in the right direction. And yup Greg cheers for the offer, maybe in 6 months or so time, Im looking at trying to get the local rock bands a site they can converse with each other, specifically for musos. Maybe i give you a bell when it is on the way:D |
