560985 2007-06-20 09:48:00 Found a channel list for freeview here (www.freeviewshop.co.nz). Some say "Optus B1" some say "Optus C1" some say "Optus B3" some say "Optus D1". Can one freeview 'set top box' pick up all these channels? pine-o-cleen (2955)
560986 2007-06-20 10:22:00 All these channels are available on optus D1 B1 is dead and buried for good now. Hitech (9024)
560987 2007-06-20 10:58:00 Apparently the official Freeview STBs can only pickup the official channels. Therefore you will need a regular FTA decoder to pick up others. I seem to remember reading somewhere that can get D1, C1 and B3 on one dish with three LNBs. For NSS5 (don't think there are any channels on the NZ beam at the moment) or the Sky Tower (TV5 Monde and Al Jazeera were on the list you linked to a few weeks ago) your dish would need to be pointed in different directions.

Edit: Just so you know, the site you linked to is a shop. The official Freeview website is here (http://freeviewnz.tv/).

560988 2007-06-25 04:02:00 I was just looking at APSATTV (http://www.apsattv.com/) and noticed this news item:

22/06/07

Channels currently testing on the Auckland (NZ) Terrestrial DVB-S service

The TEST channels are :

1: Adhoc /Zee Music
2: ZEE TV
3: Zee Cinema
4: ZEE News
5: Zee Punjabi
6: Message /Local programme channel starting Sat 12 noon
7: Colour Bars BHARAT TV coming soon
8: RTR Russia
9: Al Jazeeria Arabic
10: Al Jazeeria English
11: DW TV
12: TV5
13: VOA / NASA TV
14: Blank

Sky tower 12338 Vert pol 27.500 m/s fec 7/8
Waiturua 12338 Horz pol 27.500 m/s fec 7/8

Lnbf 11.300 = 1038 MHZ
Lnbf 11.000 = 1338 MHZ
Lnbf 10.750 = 1588 MHZ

I don't have a FTA satellite decoder myself so I don't know how the transmission quality compares with the official Freeview stations. The latter few would probably be of most interest to most Press F1 members.
