Well, i booted up in safe mode and deleted googleupdater.exe from the directory and this time when i rebooted it didnt try to dial out and it aint in the taskmanager. when i rebooted for some reason all the icons on my 4-monitor setup got all re-arranged to alphabetically, previously i had them arranged by category. who knows what caused that.
so it is still real slow on bootup. taking along time on the bluescreen before it brings up the desktop display. not sure if it is one of my video cards. i have two video cards by nVidia. they were made to work with each other but they, like the computer, are about 6 years old. |
