561170 2007-06-21 06:07:00 I would probaby give it a go. Though I would be a bit worried in case I farted  I'm sure methane and sparking electricity would not be a good mix Myth (110)
561171 2007-06-21 21:00:00 That reminds me of this video www.youtube.com

Thats a fascinating video. Its one job that I would not want. The helicopter pilot also has it rough, one gust of wind the wrong way and its big trouble. Surely they must pay those guys a lot.

561172 2007-06-22 02:13:00 As a publicity stunt Tesla used to do that siting in his lab to show people how safe AC current could be in the right conditions. Theres a great video on youtube or google about him and his inventions. He invented a lot of stuff that we take for granted today such as wifi. lazydog (148)
561173 2007-06-23 06:21:00 Believe it or not, its a SINGING TESLA COIL:
www.youtube.com

yes, it is the actual high voltage sparks that are making the noise. Every cycle of the music is a burst of sparks at 41 KHz, triggered by digital circuitry at the end of a "long" piece of fiber optics. What's not immediately obvious in this video is how loud this is. Many people were covering their ears, dogs were barking. In the sections where the crowd is cheering and the coils is starting and stopping, you can hear the the crowd is drowned out by the coil when it's firing.
