560738 2007-06-20 01:16:00 We've been having a little activity here in Hemet with RFIDs picking up PINs and other encrypted codes in our credit cards .

Seems they caught a guy in the newest Wal-Mart in San Jacinto with an RFID reader he made with instructions he found on the internet .

It works like this . . . he "walks" through a small crowd of people, scanning their credit cards, driver's licenses and medical IDs with the equipment he made .

Later, he downloads the info into his laptop and goes online and runs a few small charges on everything he can . . . nothing big, just a few small transactions that don't immediately create red flags all over the banks and card owners .

So . . I did a little research, and lo . . there's a market for aluminum foil shielded wallets nowaday .

Here's a link . . . see for yourselves: . rpi-polymath . com/ducttape/RFIDWallet . php" target="_blank">www . rpi-polymath . com

It's getting nasty out there .

560739 2007-06-20 01:20:00 There was a recent episode of CSI New York starring Nelly Furtardo doing exactly the same thing. winmacguy (3367)
