Hmmm, was the latter assertion tested scientifically? Their behaviour would suggest that their cerebral capacities were in fact several orders of magnitude below that of the inoffensive bee. A well written article - worth reading, but you do end up with whiplash from sad shaking of head at the foolishness of other members of our species (well, perhaps the assertion that they are of the same species as us should be tested as well). I wish I could show the article to my dear departed granny, who became an apiarist to support herself when she was widowed. |

Not likely to be tested here - our Halinolobus tuberculatus, Mystacina robusta, and M. tuberculate are very circumspect and are hardly ever seen - they are very rare and ground burrowing. They are our only native mammals. |
