| 750797 | 2009-02-23 21:12:00 | i just got my computer (it has windows xp) back from having the harddrive wiped clean, and as im reconfiguring my power options, i noticed i dont have any standby/hibernation options. when i click start- turn off computer- it just has restart and turn off buttons. the standby button is there but its shaded and you cant click on it. also, when my computer runs the battery down, it used to go right into hibernation, and now it just shuts off. im not sure if theres something i need to reconfigure under power options.. i tried doing the power management troubleshooter (even though thats for windows 98 i think?) but it gave me an error message and i dont really know where to start to fix any of these problems. thank you for any help! -katie |

Or some other drivers not installed that are required to let the hardware use standby properly Or, a driver that doesn't support standby is installed (obviously not the case here but it happens and can be very annoying) |
