750240 2009-02-22 06:04:00 I've tried two different ISPs, and I get the same thing. Let's say I'm downloading a 100MB file. It doesnt matter where from, every single host I've ever tried is susceptible to this problem.

If I'm using Firefox: it says that it's complete, but the file I end up with is anywhere between the sizes of 1KB and 99MB.

If I'm using Chrome: The download slows down to what literally is slower than dialup speeds, but the reported download speed remains normal. At least, given enough time, the download will eventually finish.

Any kind of download manager: timeout error

What the hell is this? If there is a pattern to this problem occurring I haven't been able to find it, it is seemingly completely random. I could have 5 simultaneous downloads and one file will be affected, it can pop up at any time during the download process, or no matter what I do every single download I start will without fail end up getting this problem and all I can do is restart and cross my fingers.

Any help?

PS:
Anyone that tells me to restart my modem is going to get shot.

750241 2009-02-22 06:07:00 Do you have a router connected?
Have you tried updating the firmware on it?

Wireless card issues?

750242 2009-02-22 06:07:00 So none of the downloads are complete?

If some downloads do complete are the files corrupt??

if theyre corrupt is Nvidia firewall installed (Are you using an AMD system)?

Atm I'm on Woosh. Single PC connection. I also tried xtra, which was shared between 4 computers.

If a download is affected by the problem, the outcome will depend on what I'm using to download it. If a download reaches 100%, it will not be corrupt. The problem lies in getting there.

I use Zonealarm only and I'm running a Pentium 4 system with XP home SP2.

750244 2009-02-22 20:14:00 When did you last install XP?
If it is a long time ago (ie over a year), try reinstalling it.
I find this usally solves my problems with XP/Vista both.
You may want to get ccleaner and several of its competitors and clean out your registry, that just might work.
